The main goal of the project realization was increasing of timber cargos transshipment values in Novorossiysk port vie terminal of JSC “Novoroslesexport” from 2 200 000 up to 3 000 000 m³. After the project realization timber terminal has the following technical characteristics:

• 51 hectare of the terminal area (territory of cargo area 1, 3, 6 and 4);
  
• 7 berths with total extension of 856 m;
  
• depth at quayside – 7,53 - 8,85 m;
  
• vessels’ capacity – up to 15 500 m³ of timber cargoes;
  
• capacity of the warehouse for synchronous storage – 210 000 m³;
  
• warehouse area – 160 000 m²;
  
• r/w stock capable for synchronous reception of 60 vans and 10 platforms;
  
• three unloading fronts with total throughput of 147 vans per day.

The project was realized within 12 months. In the process of development existing timber terminal worked in customary mode.

In order to reach the goal under project realization the following activities were carried out:

• Cleaning of the territory of the JSC "Novoroslesexport" cargo area №2 for reception of container cargoes without decrease of existing timber transshipment volumes;
• Modernization of existing capacities on timber cargos transshipment (including berths reconstruction and buying new equipment). This allowed increasing terminal capacity and intensity of loading ⁄unloading works;
• Attraction of the additional volumes of timber cargoes (about 800 000 m³);
• Reconstruction of the berths of the JSC "Novoroslesexport" (berths №32/1 - №32/5);
• Performance of construction works (including re-arrangement of the r/w infrastructure and construction of new unloading r/w fronts);
• Purchase of high-output specially fitted loading equipment (manipulator cranes: gantry manipulator cranes – to work at the berths, caterpillar manipulator cranes – to work at new r/w unloading front);
• Changing of technological schemes of timber storing: switching storage on the bundle confinement base to storage on the wagon confinement base; this allowed increasing capacity of the on-time storing warehouse and increasing cargo transshipment speed;
• Project realization facilitates strengthening of JSC “Novoroslesexport” position at the market of timber cargos transshipment and redounded upon redistribution of current and potential flow of cargo to the way of JSC “Novoroslesexport” terminal part increasing.

   The available warehouse areas of the JSC "Novoroslesexport" make it possible to store up to 200 000 m³ of timber goods which is 2,5 times bigger than the commitments of its competitors.

   150 000 m³).
